Probate Courts

Probate courts have jurisdiction over estates and wills, guardianships, adoptions, name changes, emancipations, trusts, birth certificates, corrections of death certificates, and corrections of marriage certificates. All New Hampshire and most Vermont probate courts are based on the county level. However, Windham and Windsor are two of four Vermont counties that have two districts each. Below is a list of courts that service the Connecticut River watershed. Read the information carefully because the names of the probate districts do not match the location of the offices themselves.
